Are you ready? The heat is finally here! I think it’s about time I shared the best summer fabrics with you. Believe me the right fabrics can make all the difference in the world!

Temperatures are definitely rising here in Cornwall, and I can’t stand the heat. I really can’t! I love winter and the cold snow. Unfortunately I can’t be at the beach and in my swimwear 24 hours a day, so I try to find the most lightweight and airy fabrics for my summer outfits. I recently bought a pair of linen pants, and I was shocked by how cool they kept me in 80+ degree weather. Seriously…it blew my mind!

When you go shopping, you might want to be on the lookout for fabrics that will not only keep you cool, but provide comfort as well. I’m a big fan of the bohemian look, so I might just wear jersey maxi dresses and skirts all summer long. That’s my idea of being chill and comfy chic!

I want to know what you like to wear!

What are your favorite summer fabrics?

In the meantime…check out 8 of the best summer fabrics.

#1 Cotton

As one of the most common natural fiber fabrics out there, cotton will help you stay cool and chic this summer, perfect for a hot sunny day.

#2 Linen

Choose a lightweight linen to add to your wardrobe this summer. I already own a pair of pants. They will definitely keep you cool!

#3 Rayon

Rayon is a man-made fabric, but it is light and comfy.

#4 Silk

We’re back to a natural fiber with silk. Also considered a luxury material, this fabric is so amazingly soft and cool to the touch. Is perfect for summer

#5 Georgette

Georgette, similar to chiffon, is another sheer and airy material you’re going to love on those hot days. This could be perfect for your next garden party.

#6 Jersey

Another one of my favourite fabrics — jersey is a blended, lightweight, and stretchy material. It’s like it was made for dresses. #1 in my books.

#7 Chambray

Think of chambray as imitation denim, but a lot lighter in weight. This woven fabric is ideal when you’re craving a denim look. This fabric is so very versatile.

#8 Seersucker

Okay…truth is, seersucker is a type of cotton fabric, but I just love the woven pattern.
